This new refined Jeep Compass has got attractive exteriors and impressive premium interior features which makes it stand out from what we call ordinary. So, it is a complete package worth paying for.
For people who love to experience adventures, the Jeep Compass would surely give a paradise ride. However, there are certain flaws where its competitors gain an advantage but that’s ok if it comes along with giant features. Read this detailed review of the updated Jeep Compass and embrace the luxurious jeep lifestyle.
We have examined the performance of Compass based on the following attributes and conclude that although performance is the decisive factor, it is surely a plus point. The overall ride is good in the compass but it is not the ultimate comfortable vehicle of the season.
Engine & Gears
In compass, you will get a four-cylinder engine, the performance of which is average. In the four-wheel-drive engine, there comes 9-speed automatic transmission. In the front-wheel-drive engine, there is a 6-speed automatic transmission, which is considered standard.
Toyota offers this in FWD variants. In both cases, the engine proves slack with the slow shifting of the gearbox. So, the engine of the Jeep Compass is average. The gears take some pause before shifting hence we won’t call it 100% slick. If a person needs to change the gear frequently, find it a troublesome task and won’t vote for Compass. All in all, its transmission is not so quick.
It wins in terms of suspension from its rival SUVs. It performs excellently on the road as well as off the road. However, the off-the-road suspension is even superb.
When it comes to handling, the compass doesn’t do wonders. The body and structure are ok but can’t be said to be outstanding. Tires are also not so grippy as compared to the standards. Standard tires hold a good grip even on wet roads and through rocky terrains.
NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness)
Talking about the riding experience in compass, it is overall great however, there left the scope of improvement in NVH. The cabin of the car is properly insulated to prevent wind noise from entering inside while driving at high speed. But it is still a level lower than competitors.

The fuel economy of the Jeep compass is not even average. So it is not made for the people who need a fuel-efficient SUV. Let us look further.

The interior of the Jeep compass is quite good and soothing. The quality of the material is also adequate at the given price. However, other similar cars offer more sophisticated interiors at a similar price quote. Altogether, the interiors are good enough to go for it.
It has got a comfortable driving seat suitable for long journeys also. You can adjust the seat as per your convenience using its 8-way power-adjustable seat and 4-way power-adjustable headrest. perforated leather is used which is good for both heating and cooling temperatures.
Front seats are 6-way power adjustable which allows heating and cooling. Rear seats are made very spacious where 3 adults can sit with ease. In the second row, A.C vent is separately installed.
Height And Space
The measurement of the car is like 14 feet long, 6 feet wide, and 5 feet in height. The wheelbase is made around 9 feet. These measurements may vary a bit in different variants of Jeep. Apart from this, you will also have a USB port, an AUX port, and a 12V socket. While your hands are on steering, you will easily be able to access all the needed controls. Analog speedo and tachometer are bonus features.

The standard is FWD (Front Wheel Drive) that comes the same in all variants. To add up 4WD, an additional amount of 1500$ has to be paid.
As they said, nothing is perfect and so is the Jeep Compass. No doubt that it has some wonderful features that makes it an appealing option among many but when space and powerful engines come into the picture, rivals of the Jeep Compass gain an advantage. It has got some outstanding off-road capabilities for which it deserves to be the one. Else better options from Honda, Toyota, and Mazda like Big Daddys are available.
