Maybe you’re a bit of a petrol head and really into your cars and vehicles, or perhaps it’s just getting out there and driving on the open road you enjoy. Either way, if you have a love surrounding vehicles and driving then there are plenty of cool adventures you can go on when you fancy a break away. Here are a few to give you some ideas.
Road trip in your own car
There’s nothing better than your own car- akin to a comfortable pair of shoes that are moulded to your own feet, your own car just ‘feels’ right. So if you’re planning on going on a long road trip then it makes sense to consider your own vehicle. Decide on your route, and set out the different hotel/ motel/ hostel or camping stops along the way so you have somewhere to sleep each night. If you’re going to be driving your own car, make sure to give it a thorough check up before setting off too. You’ll want to check all of the fluids and bulbs, put some tools in the back in case you need to make small repairs as you go and include an emergency kit too in case you get stuck anywhere. Make sure you’re covered for breakdowns and that your membership and payments are up to date, just in case you need to call for recovery at any point!
Hire a car abroad
If you want to go abroad and there’s no way of taking your own car then hiring one is the way to go. You could use this as an opportunity to hire a really cool car that you’ve always wanted to drive such as a luxury model or a muscle car. If you’re going to a sunny destination then something with a convertible roof is always going to be a lot of fun to drive.
Campervan/ RV trips
When you own a campervan, you can essentially go on adventures whenever you like. All you need to do is put gas in the tank and grab some food from the supermarket and you’re good to go. There’s no messing around booking hotels or any of that because you can stop and sleep anywhere (providing it’s safe and legal). Campervans are the perfect way to explore your home country, and you have the freedom to just get out there and go wherever you want. There are car storage companies all over which give you a place to store your campervan when it’s not in use, so finding somewhere to park it at home needn’t be an issue.
Go 4×4 driving
Lots of destinations around the world offer self drive 4×4 cars where you can explore your surroundings and enjoy the challenging terrain in a four wheel drive vehicle. Another slightly different ideas would be driving dune buggies on the beach, do some research and find out where offer these kinds of fun activities as they’re something you’re bound to enjoy as a driving enthusiast.
